NEW TRAINERS

After a good nights sleep, we fed the new missionaries breakfast and headed for some instructions and to meet their new trainers.

EACH LIFE THAT TOUCHES OURS FOR GOOD

We had 17 Elders depart the Florida Orlando Mission on August 24, 2010. It's always a hard time for the President and I to see these missionaries leave. It's amazing to think that in the one year that we have been in the mission we have said good-bye to over 126 missionaries! What a turnover. We wish them the best and a big thanks for their service.

EXCITEMENT OF THE NEW ARRIVALS

19 new missionaries came to the Florida Orlando Mission on August 23, 2010. We are so excited to have them in the mission field. 7 Spanish and 12 English Elders this transfer. All of the new missionaries are ready to work and come to us prepared to share the message of the Restoration and the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are so lucky to have them!

HURRICANE IRENE

GREAT NEWS!! The hurricane turned to the north to miss Florida by 250 miles. When you consider that the hurricane is almost 300 miles across we were so lucky to be missed. I have been praying since we saw Irene as a tropical storm. We have watched the warnings so closely. The president in his emails has asked the missionaries to be prepared with their cars filled with gas and to have enough food and water to last for 3 to 5 days during the hurricane season. We were prepared to evacuate the missionaries if needed. When it became obvious that we would be missed completely we all breathed a sigh of relief. We had a small amount of wind and just minor rain. We are all praying for the east coast from North Carolina to New Hampshire. I'm sure you have all been watching the weather and know all this. We are praying for them. There was a death in Florida due to the hurricane. We have had warnings to stay off the beaches and out of the water. The rip tides and huge waves are problems. It was reported on the news that someone had drowned on Cocoa Beach. I am so thankful that our area was out of harms way. Thank you for all your prayers.
