MISSION LEADERSHIP COUNCIL
A New Era - Mission Leadership Council
In the past this was called "Zone Leader Council" which was for the 6 Zone Leaders in our Mission. The leadership of the missions throughout the church has changed to accommodate the increase of sister missionaries. It has been so exciting to see the Lord "hasten His work". The new name of this council is "Mission Leadership Council". The new look is Sister Trainer Leaders, this is a new calling for sisters. Sister Trainer Leaders (STL) will do 24 hour exchanges with sisters in their assigned areas and help them in their missionary work. They will be part of the Mission Leadership Council and have a strong voice in the vision and direction of the Florida Orlando Mission.

In the April 2013
General Conference, Elder Russell M. Nelson said, "Catch the wave of
missionary service"
This work is like a
wave, but it is more like a tsunami that changes the landscape for a long time
to come. In this case, this wave will change the Church forever!
With this shift in
missionary work, we have experienced some wonderful
changes in the
mission. We are experiencing a
growth in new sister missionaries.
New sister missionaries that have been out for only one transfer and who
have barely been trained are now new trainers. Some are even training two new sisters. It is an exciting time.
The mission was blessed to have Elder Ulisses Soares of the
Presidency of the Seventy teach us in a mission conference Thursday, April 25,
2013. His inspired comments gave
vision and direction for the mission.
The following are some of his inspired teachings.
“If you want to know
the Lord serve Him. If you want to
know Him
better,
serve Him better . . . the mission is sacred time”
“You live among
Christians. Start talking to them
about Jesus Christ”
“Everything you do during
the day must represent Jesus Christ”
“This is the Lord’s way of hastening His work . . . .I wonder
why?”
“We must run faster . . . planning is an eternal principle:
“There needs to be a place
in your heart for the new mission president”
The Lord sent us a true messenger. We are now obligated to be obedient and fulfill our
obligations to the Lord.

The FOM New Sister Training Leaders
Zone Leader Council is now called Mission Leadership Council and will include sisters. The sister training leaders will be assigned to a certain number of sister missionaries and will be responsible for their training and welfare in addition to participating in the Mission Leadership Council. Sister missionaries comprised 14 percent of the church's total missionary force. Since January 1, new mission calls have been extended at a rate of about 1,400 per week, with 36 percent of the calls going to sister missionaries. The FOM's sister compliment is now 76 sisters. We will receive 23 sisters and 5 elders in the June transfer.
